Curriculum-linked immersive excursions for Foundation to Year 12
Bring animals, habitats, dinosaurs, space, scientific inquiry and visual storytelling together in one memorable excursion.
Hologram Zoo Melbourne’s school programs use large-scale projected 3D experiences to help students observe closely, ask questions, examine evidence and communicate their thinking.
Each pathway is designed for a particular learning level and includes selected links to the Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 or current VCE study designs.
Tell us your year level or VCE subject, approximate group size and preferred dates. We will help you select suitable experiences and confirm the visit structure.
Why Teachers Choose Hologram Zoo Melbourne
Designed for the students you teach
Six learning pathways progress from identifying animal features and habitat needs to evaluating scientific evidence, ecosystem change, evolution, conservation decisions and VCE case studies.
Resources that continue the learning
The six completed experiences have level-specific student worksheets or workbooks and teacher guides. Resources are supplied in editable Word and print-ready PDF formats.
Memorable and accessible learning
Large-scale projected scenes create strong prompts for observation, discussion and investigation.
Teachers can request accessibility and sensory information before visiting, including guidance about low light, movement, sound and sudden visual effects.
Choose Your Excursion Level
Foundation–Year 2
Animal Detectives: Features, Habitats and Needs
Students identify animal features, consider the basic needs of living things, notice patterns and communicate observations through speaking, drawing and short written responses.
Years 3–4
Habitats, Life Cycles and Connections
Students classify organisms, investigate life cycles, explore habitats and food chains, organise observations and communicate supported explanations.
Years 5–6
Adaptations, Change and Evidence
Students connect animal structures and behaviours with their functions, model environmental change, evaluate evidence and justify possible responses.
Years 7–8
Systems, Evidence and Immersive Design
Students classify organisms, model ecosystems and Earth systems, evaluate scientific claims and communicate evidence-based conclusions.
Space groups can select either a Science pathway or an Immersive Design pathway.
Years 9–10
Evolution, Systems and Responsible Futures
Students investigate natural selection, analyse ecosystems and physical models, evaluate sources and develop recommendations for scientific or conservation issues.
Years 11–12
VCE Evidence and Case Studies
Flexible case-study resources support applications in VCE Biology, Environmental Science and Physics, including evidence analysis, model evaluation, management decisions and investigation planning.
Explore Our Education Experiences
Every completed experience has resources across all six excursion levels.
Australia
Investigate Australian animal features, habitats, ecological relationships, adaptations and conservation.
Arctic
Compare polar habitats while investigating animal ranges, sea ice, snow crystals, aurora and the difference between observation and inference.
Asia
Explore animal adaptations, forest and wetland systems, biodiversity evidence and cultural representations.
Students distinguish scientific evidence from uncertain identification and cultural storytelling.
Africa
Use savanna and wetland scenes as prompts for learning about classification, adaptation, ecosystems and conservation.
Dinosaurs
Distinguish fossils, scientific reconstruction and imaginative storytelling while exploring deep time, Earth change, adaptation, evolution and evidence.
Space
Analyse Solar System models, spaceflight, the International Space Station, planetary exploration, stellar events and speculative futures.
Students learn to distinguish verified science, visualisation, inference and fiction.
